Manchester United may sign Ekitike for 75 million! If he joins, he will sell Hojlund, and Inter Milan is waiting to pick up the leak

The 41-year-old returned to Old Trafford at the weekend and it took him just 10 minutes to score more goals there than the current number of 9s Hojlund and 11 Zirkze combined. Both Reds centre-forwards have scored just once at home this year, with Carlos Tevez scoring four goals on his own, scoring two in the first two minutes.

So it's understandable that United want a new goalscorer, with Eintracht Frankfurt's Hugo Ekitike considered the number one choice at the moment. It is reported that the deal is being brokered by Christopher Vivel, United's head of recruitment, who previously worked for RB Leipzig and Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga, and has a close relationship with Eintracht Frankfurt's sporting director, Marcus Krosche.

The Bundesliga club are officially asking for €100 million, but that's a bargaining amount, and they are said to be seeking a transfer fee similar to Malmösh's move to Manchester City, around €75 million (£63 million), which can be paid in instalments.

However, Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claims that Manchester United have not officially opened formal talks with Eintracht Frankfurt and that Ekitike is also a target of Liverpool's attention, with the latter regularly contacting the player's agent. Fabrizio Romano explained: "Manchester United have been with Ekitike's agent for the last three days to find out if the player has confirmed his transfer and they have discussed his price with Eintracht Frankfurt, but he is still very expensive for Manchester United."

Meanwhile, United plan to sell at least one of Hojlund and Zirkze if the new centre-forward goes well. The 22-year-old Hojlund paid a whopping £72 million to the 24-year-old at £36.5 million, but neither of them was good at scoring goals.

According to AS Roma Sport, if they were to choose to keep one, United would prefer Zirkze, who can't score either, but at least has better technique and can drop back to get the ball.

Some believe that if the number 10 behind him is Cunha and Mbeumo, who are good at scoring goals, the Dutchman may be able to play a role. The following scene may fully explain the reason why Manchester United made this choice -

Hojlund's confidence in the Premier League has evaporated, but he remains a market in Serie A, with Inter Milan always having a keen interest in the Danish international. According to the newspaper "Milan Sport", Inter Milan is still ready to go all out to try to sign the "freighter".

Italian sources say Manchester United are more interested in selling Hojlund on a permanent basis and want to get between £34m and £38m. However, Inter do not seem to be able to afford to pay such a high price in one fell swoop, preferring to sign a loan deal with a buy-out clause, specifically next season, with a buy-out obligation in 2026.

The Nerazzurri's offer includes a significant loan fee for the first year, which would allow United to receive a sum of money and also allow the Serie A giants to pay a little less for next year. United don't need to sell Hojlund immediately, as his contract doesn't expire until 2028, which Inter feel will also work in their favour.

Unable to sign Hojlund before the Club World Cup, Inter need not rush as they can wait until the Red Devils sign a new striker. Once Amorim has another centre-forward in his squad, not only will the club be more interested in selling Hojlund for a transfer fee and saving wages, but the player himself will be more active in promoting the transfer.

Hojlund recently publicly stated that he expects to continue playing for Manchester United next season, but has already accepted a return to Serie A because once the team has a new no.9 and there is no European competition next season, his playing time will be numbered.

The first talks between Inter and Hojlund's agent are said to have taken place in Milan, with another negotiation expected to take place in the coming days through an intermediary. Inter could bring in Parma striker Ange-Juan Bony if they can't get Hojlund this summer.

The 21-year-old has partnered with new Inter boss Zivo for an estimated £17 million transfer fee. The French youth striker has made 117 appearances for Parma, most of the time in Serie B, and he has only played one season in Serie A, scoring six goals.
